Far beyond the southeastern edge of the Asuwan continent lie the Southern Islands, a paradise of turquoise waters, swaying palms, and warm tropical breezes. Most travelers know them for their beauty. Few know their darker stories.
One such story concerns the lonely island of Tcho-N'kele.
The island appears on few charts and is avoided by nearly every sailor in the region. The islanders call it tapu—forbidden. They speak of strange bells heard across the water on moonless nights and ghostly lights that dance among the jungle ruins. Fishermen refuse to land there. Even pirates give its shores a wide berth.
Long ago, Tcho-N'kele was home to a powerful temple dedicated to a dread goddess of the deep. Her priests ruled through fear, demanding sacrifices to appease their hungry deity. Eventually the neighboring islands united against them, burning the temple and slaughtering the cult. The goddess was cast down and her worship erased from history.
Or so the stories claim.
Now strange happenings have begun once more. Ghostly apparitions have been seen among the ruins. Ships passing near the island report hearing bells ringing from beneath the waves. Several treasure hunters have vanished without a trace.
Some believe the temple hides fabulous treasures untouched for centuries.
Others believe something far older and far more terrible still waits beneath the flooded ruins.
Whatever the truth, the mystery of Tcho-N'kele has remained unsolved for generations.
Until now.
Will the heroes uncover the secrets of the forbidden island, claim its lost treasures, and put its restless dead to rest?
Or will they join the countless souls already claimed by Tcho-N'kele?
