The dwarves of Tharkad-Kûl were considered the most blessed of any clan. Their mountain was rich in every metal and gemstones besides. Strong rivers of both water and magma laved its depths. Its flanks were fertile and supported flocks of sheep, goats and llamas. It sat at an important crossroads, and a trading city grew at the foot of the mountain, enriching both the city dwellers and the dwarves in turn. They even had that elusive crystal known as Jumpstone in the deeper depths. Yes, indeed the dwarves that dwelt in Tharkad-Kûl were truly blessed … until they weren’t
